A small shop for a slower kind of home.

Salt & Fern began on a trestle table at the Barwon Heads market in 2026 — a few candles, a stack of linen and a long list of local makers we loved.

Made within an hour of the water.

We keep the range small on purpose. Every piece we sell is made by hand, mostly within an hour's drive of the shop — poured, thrown, woven and printed by people we know by name.

It means we can't always keep everything in stock. We think that's a fair trade for things made well, in small batches, by people who care how they turn out.

Three quiet principles

Local first

We source from Bellarine and Surf Coast makers before anyone else. Shorter trips, fairer pay, better things.

Made to last

Refillable vessels and stonewashed linen that softens with age — designed to stay in the house, not the bin.

Honestly small

One shop, one small team. If something's out, it's because it's handmade — not because we planned the scarcity.

Faces behind the shelves.

Our ceramics come from a backyard studio in Ocean Grove. The linen is cut and sewn in Geelong. The prints are pulled by a risograph studio two streets away. The candles, we pour ourselves, in the back of the shop.
